Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is a time where I will get to know you and your story better. We will come together at the end of session to set your therapeutic goals. I understand sitting with a stranger and opening up about your personal life and struggles can be intimidating, but understand that my number one goal is to help you feel safe and cared for while you allow yourself to be vulnerable. It is in the discomfort that we will see growth and change.

What are your fees?

My fees vary according to the services requested and whether or not insurance is being used. The initial session is longer than others and therefore slightly higher in cost. This will be explained in detail prior to the first session.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently credentialed with the following insurance companies:

  • Aetna

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (Massachusetts only)

  • Cigna

  • United Healthcare

Do you counsel individuals working through addiction or recovery?

At this time I have not completed addiction counseling training, therefore, I do not feel I can provide the depth of service an individual in recovery might need.

How long will I be in counseling?

The client and therapist will know it is time to conclude the counseling relationship with the client begins applying the things learned in counseling, meets the established therapeutic goals, and when life is more satisfying and there has been healing. You are in control of your journey - and life is just that - a journey. Therapy and personal growth is a process that will move at the pace of the client.
